On 26 May, Dr. Katerina Tzortzatou from the Fundraising Unit of NCSR Demokritos and Mr. Periklis Terlixidis from AHEDD were honored to participate in the panel discussion “Ecological Translation”, organised by Alexander Damianos and Ecological Translation, exploring how artificial intelligence can be transformed into meaningful civic tools that address environmental, social, and community needs.
Moderated by Dr. Alexandre Damianos, the panel also featured valuable contributions from Mrs. Elahe Rajabiani, Policy Analyst at the EU Policy Lab, who shared important insights into EU best practices and methodologies regarding AI implementation across the European Commission’s DGs.
Focusing on innovative civic applications of AI, the discussion examined how emerging technologies can support:
• ecological awareness
• participatory governance
• sustainable urban development
• cultural engagement
• public-interest innovation
Bringing together perspectives from research, policy, art, and technology, the discussion highlighted AI not only as a technical system, but also as a medium for collective imagination, responsibility, and societal transformation.
